Following the slogan, 'Starting a Small Revolution', Morrinho Social aims to offer an educational component that complements the overarching values of Morrinho:  arts education, social justice, and socioeconomic mobility.   We are happy to announce that thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Culture, we will soon begin offering courses in film theory and production.  Current members of Team Morrinho will be the teachers and we will work in coordination with local businesses and universities to offer a richer educational experience to interested youth between the ages of 11 and 14 from the Pereira da Silva community and surrounding favelas.  With time and experience, we aim to grow Morrinho Social to offer courses in youth leadership and citizenship development.

Unlike our other initiatives, Morrinho Social not only communicates a positive side of favela life, but it also offers an important social good.  Each day, the implementation of workshops and courses becomes more and more important, as at risk youth of Pereira da Silva and neighboring communities increasingly look to Project Morrinho as an option of dignity and civility.
